BVCF News

The Bigfork RiverWalk Trail has become a reality.
Seven years ago, the idea of a recreational trail along the Big Fork and Rice rivers first received
public support.
Over a million dollars was raised and the trail was completed in the summer of 2016. The trail is currently open
and completely usable but there will be some minor finishing work in 2017.
The bituminous trail will handle all kinds of non-motorized use from walking to wheelchairs,
and will be plowed for use in the winter.
Partners in developing the project include Bigfork Valley Community Foundation,
Itasca County, City of Bigfork, Bigfork Valley Hospital, ISD 318, Northern Itasca Joint
Powers Board, Minnesota Highway 38 Leadership Board and local community members.
